Misc 3 The Baal Shem Tov said that every single Jew must rectify and prepare that part of the structure of Moshiach which pertains to his soul. It is know that the letters ADaM are the initial letters of Adam, David, Moshiach. The Gemara tells us that Adam extended from one end of the universe to the other. He also included within himself all the souls of the Jewish people. It was only after he sinned that his structure was reduced. The Moshiach parallels Adam. He will be a complete structure encompassing the souls of the entire Jewish people, just like Adam before he sinned. Therefore every Jew must prepare the part of Moshiach that relates to his soul. In this manner the entire structure will ultimately be rectified. After Shabbos Shuva 5570 Rabbi Nachman of Breslov spoke about the Moshiach. Many people had said that Moshiach would be coming that year, bur Rav Nachman did not agree. He said, "When the Moshiach is ready to come, more than one person will cry out about having faith. Many righteous individuals will raise their voices, just as I do today. They will scream until their throats become hoarse - and it will do no good Since the time of David who desired to build the Bais Hamikdash, every leader of the Jewish people leads them toward the final finish line - the coming of Moshiach. As each Tzadik of the generation passed away, the baton was passed on to the next leader. Towards the very end, as the finish line was in sight, the Tzadik of that generation turned to all the Jewish people who are waiting on the sidelines with bated breath for the finish and handed them the baton. "Take it," he said, "so that you - the people - complete the mission on our behalf." May we have the strength and faith to fulfil our mission. |
